Set a course for fun this summer with Oceans of Possibilities, the 2022 Summer Reading Program at the Destin Library. In between reading binges, drop anchor at the library for an aquatic-themed activity the whole family will enjoy. These programs are suggested for ages 12 and up, but all ages are welcome.
Learn about Life on the Reef with the Center for Aquatic Sciences on June 23rd at 2:00 p.m. See live footage from inside the aquatic center at this virtual program presented at the library.
If you prefer something crafty, try your hand at sewing your own Steampunk Octopus Plush on July 7th at 2:00 p.m. This activity is a perfect opportunity for beginners to learn basic sewing skills while making a cute friend you can take home.
On July 21st at 2:00 p.m., Kathy Marler Blue from the Destin History and Fishing Museum presents Hooked on History. Come hear facts and stories about Destin’s fishing heritage from a resident expert.
There is limited space for these activities, so registration is recommended. To register, go to okaloosa.librarycalendar.com, click on the event you would like to attend, and fill out the short registration from under the event details. While you’re there, be sure to browse the calendar for other Summer Reading events happening in Destin and the other five Okaloosa County Cooperative libraries.
