City of Milton issued the following announcement.
With the resignation of Mrs. Heather Hathaway, the Milton City Council is short one member. As per the City Charter, Council has 60 days to appoint a qualified individual to fill the Ward 1, Seat 1 position for the remainder of the unexpired term. At the Committee of the Whole meeting on September 22, 2020, Council set forth the following schedule to make the appointment.
Deadline to Apply: Tuesday, October 13, 2020, 4:00 p.m.
Review and Discussion: Thursday, October 22, 2020, 5:30 p.m. at the Committee of the Whole Meeting
Appointment: Tuesday, October 27, 2020, 5:30 p.m. at a Special Called Meeting of the City Council
Completed applications and a current resume must be submitted to the City Clerk by the 4 p.m. deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted. The City Clerk will review all applications to determine eligibility. Applicants will be given an opportunity to present their qualifications at the October 22, 2020 Committee of the Whole Meeting.
