Rep. Matt Gaetz, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida's 1st district since 2017, shared a series of tweets on March 4, 2025, concerning political matters involving fellow Congressman Gerry Connolly and the President's address to Congress. Gaetz has been active in politics since his tenure in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016.

In his first tweet of the day, Gaetz posted an emoji without further context: " https://t.co/MywIc0yMZc" (March 4, 2025).

Later that day, Gaetz commented on Congressman Gerry Connolly's decision not to attend President Donald Trump's address to Congress. He stated: "U.S. Congressman @GerryConnolly wants you to know that he won’t be attending U.S. President Donald Trump’s address to the U.S. Congress…. Because solidarity with Ukraine." (March 4, 2025).

In a subsequent tweet, Gaetz questioned the implications of Connolly's stance by stating: "If 'solidarity with Ukraine' demands a U.S. congressman not attend a joint address from the President, it sure demands a lot!" (March 4, 2025).
