Walton County recently issued the following announcement.
Work will begin in late April 2022 to install a new drainage box culvert under San Juan Avenue between CR 30A and Shady Pines Dr. The project is intended to improve drainage
and water quality.
After installation of a temporary diversion pipe, traffic will be shifted east onto temporary asphalt while work is performed on half the roadway in Phase 1. In Phase II, traffic will be
shifted to the west and the second half of the new culvert built. New asphalt, striping, guardrail, sidewalk, and signs are included in the project.
Work will require temporary lane closures, flagging operations, and reduced speed. The project is scheduled for completion in Fall 2022.
