City of Destin issued the following announcement on March 3.
On March 19th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. join the Destin Garden Club and Master Gardener volunteers at the Destin Library for a Celebration of Spring. Traditional spring
gardening season begins on March 15th, so what better time to get gardening tips, identify those unknown plants from your landscape, and see the magnificent Destin Library all in
one day? Come get a personalized tour of the library gardens and planting beds where Destin Garden Club members will be stationed to explain their concept of planting and
maintaining their part of the library landscape. Visit the Butterfly Garden, the entrance planting area, the rose planting area, and the future site of the Blue Star By-Way Memorial.
Master Gardener volunteers will be available to identify plants and to give advice on starting or maintaining your home flower or vegetable garden. Bring the kids to see how our
endangered Monarch butterflies may be nurtured from egg to fully fledged, free-flying butterflies.
This all-ages event is free and open to the public. If you have any questions, please contact the Destin Library at 850-837-8572 or library@cityofdestin.com.
