Women's Swim Heads to Tallahassee

University of West Florida issued the following announcement on Oct. 27.

The Argos will face Florida State, Florida Southern, & North Florida on Saturday

West Florida Swimming hits the road to Tallahassee, Fla. this upcoming weekend to face Florida State, Florida Southern, and North Florida.

The Argos come into this meet No. 13 in the CSCAA Division II Preseason Poll.

West Florida finished 11th in the 2020-21 NCAA Championships. The Argos also came in first place at the 2021 New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championship 

(NSISC) earning a total of 1,225 points.

This was the second year in a row that West Florida has won the NSISC and it makes for the fourth time in program history. One of the leaders for this Argo team has been Ester 

Rizzetto, who won 100 freestyle and she broke the NSISC record with a 49.17 sesconds.

Yael Danieli won 1650 freestyle at the NSISC to help the Argos earn points with a time of 14:07.05.

The Argos look to pick up right where they left off and continue to dominate inside the lanes.

About Florida State: The No. 16 Noles came away with a road win against Georgia Tech (150-148) this past weekend. Florida State is 1-1 overall, 1-0 in the ACC this season.

About Florida Southern: The Mocs are 1-2 overall so far this season. Women's swimming had a tough loss this past weekend to Tampa (72-190) and Saint Leo (116-146). Jazzy 

Hoffman was named Swimmer of the Week by the Sunshine State Conference.

About North Florida: The Ospreys are coming off their first meet of the season against their rival, Georgia Southern. The visiting Eagles won the meet 145.5-116.5. This was the 

first meet held at UNF's new competition pool.

Up Next: The Argos will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 30. The meet will start on Saturday afternoon at 1 PM.
