The University of West Florida Continuing Education will offer 60 UWF Explore Summer Camps this year. Since 2006, UWF Explore Camps has offered quality summer programs to the University and community.

The STEAM camp experiences offer hands-on learning opportunities from University faculty and local educators for incoming 1st-12th graders. Camps are located on the Pensacola campus, in downtown Pensacola at the Pensacola Museum of Art and Pensacola Historic District as well as Marine Science camps at Gulf Breeze Elementary School. The weeklong academic enrichment summer camps are theme based, but there are also musical theater as well as art camps.

Our academic enrichment camps provide a unique opportunity for youth to engage in a low-pressure, creative learning environment while having a fun and memorable summer experience,” said Valerie Taylor, associate director for community outreach and personal enrichment.

Some of the camps include:

  • Marine Science: Become immersed in marine science through daily field trips to Shoreline park to play and learn and science dissection labs.
  • Explore Hogwarts: Discover the wizarding world of Harry Potter from mystical creatures to potions.
  • Broadway Bound: Prepare for two weeks of singing, dancing, acting, and set and costume design with a new musical for this year!
  • Jr. Mad Scientist: Delve into the depths of science in this “mad” and wacky science camp!
  • LEGO Robotics: Witness your hand-built creations come to life using LEGO WeDo 2.0 technology.

UWF Explore Camps was recognized as an Inweekly Best Summer Camp from 2018-2021. For more information or to register, visit uwf.edu/explorecamps.
