Rep. Matt Gaetz, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 1st district, has expressed concerns about environmental and immigration issues through his social media platform. Gaetz has been serving in Congress since 2017 after replacing Jeff Miller and has a background in law with degrees from Florida State University and the College of William & Mary.

On February 17, 2025, Gaetz addressed environmental challenges in Florida's estuaries. "This is not ideal," he wrote, pointing out that "sea grass has been dying at scale in FL estuaries, leading to a loss of about 1/6 of the FL manatee population." He mentioned that some manatees have been observed traveling farther north for food while others are confined to small canals.

Later on the same day, Gaetz announced an upcoming discussion on his show regarding these matters. "Daniel will be on my show this evening to discuss," he stated on February 17, 2025, inviting viewers to tune in at "9est - @OANN."

On February 18, 2025, Gaetz commented on developments concerning immigration policies. He referred to Larry Keefe as a significant figure by stating "Larry Keefe is a legit genius." He described recent news as unfavorable for illegal immigrants without providing further details.
