Rep. Matt Gaetz, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida's 1st district since 2017, shared several statements on social media that have drawn attention. Gaetz has been an active member of Congress and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016.

On February 18, 2025, Gaetz tweeted about a stereotype related to egg preservation, stating "Nobody knows how to save eggs like middle-aged white women." This statement attracted considerable online discussion regarding its implications and intent.

Later the same day, he commented on a hypothetical political scenario involving Governor Hochul and Mayor Adams. He expressed his view by tweeting "If Hochul removes Adams it will go down as one of the wildest acts of a white woman Karen-ing a black man." This tweet added to ongoing conversations about race and politics.

In another tweet from February 18, Gaetz addressed Elon Musk's financial decisions concerning Treasury payments. He remarked humorously "How dare @elonmusk deprive dead people of their Treasury payments! Now they’ll be EXTRA motivated to vote Democrat." The tweet appeared to critique certain fiscal policies with an element of satire.
