Boppa Chua! The History of the 50s and 60s Through Popular Song

The Friends Guild of the Destin Library presents Boppa Chua! Marc Black’s History of the 50s and 60s through popular song on Friday, November 4th at 6:00 p.m. at the Destin Library. New York Blues Hall of Fame inductee, Marc Black, will be your guide during an evening of song, storytelling, and laughter through these two historically defining decades. You will celebrate wonderful songs as diverse as “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini” and “Blowin’ in the Wind,” as well as tunes by artists ranging from Dean Martin to George Harrison. In addition to the music and conversation, this popular program features a slide show by Susan Black that is sure to slide you right back in time. Marc will also perform the Top 40 hit, “Happy,” by his own group, Blades of Grass as performed on their tour with The Doors, Neil Diamond, The Dave Clark Five, and Van Morrison.

If you have any questions, please contact the library at 850-837-8572 or library@cityofdestin.com
