OCSO Charges Absconded Sexual Offender with Attempted Bank Robbery

A man living in Okaloosa County only two weeks is now charged with attempted bank robbery as well as failure to register as a sexual offender.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s office was able to track down 45-year old Kirk Losey in connection with a robbery attempt at Eglin Federal Credit Union in Mary Esther August 8th. The victim says the man handed her a note demanding money. After she went to give the note to a supervisor, he left the building.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigators used video surveillance images, a citizen’s tip, searches, and witness information to help link Losey to the crime.

A registered sexual predator in Florida, Losey is also charged with failure to register where he is staying in Okaloosa County.
