After achieving a 3.71 team GPA this past academic year, the UWF Volleyball program has earned the 2022 USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Monday.
Awarded to teams who achieved greater than a 3.30 cumulative GPA during this past academic year, UWF joins elite company from around the nation who earned this prestigious distinction. Including a 3.63 GPA in the Fall semester as well as a 3.78 GPA in the Spring, the Argonauts took huge strides in the classroom during this past academic year.
They Argos also had an outstanding 11 student-athletes with at least a 3.9 grade point average who were named to the President's list for their hard work in the classroom in the Fall. Similarly, in the Spring, the Argonauts had nine players named to the President's list and six to the Dean's list.
In addition to the Team Academic Award, UWF was designated as one of 29 AVCA Honor Roll programs, ranking among the top 20 percent of teams in Division II.
This marks the second-consecutive year and third time in the last four that the Argonauts have earned this recognition.
