Guns and Hoses III

The City of Crestview is excited to announce the 3rd “Guns & Hoses” blood drive event happening on July 20, 2022, from 9 am to 3 pm at Crestview City Hall.

In conjunction with OneBlood’s “Blood Donors are First Responders” event, we will be hosting a friendly competition where donors can choose to have their donation count for the Crestview Police Department or the Crestview Fire Department. With the winner taking bragging rights, both of which went to the CPD during last year’s events.

Donors will receive a $20 eGift card, a special first responders T-shirt, and a wellness checkup that includes blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count, and cholesterol screening courtesy of OneBlood.

Last year’s competitions led to a total donation of 36 units, which translates to up to 108 patients potentially benefitting from a life-saving blood transfusion, and according to OneBlood, transfusions typically occur within 48 to 72 hours after being donated, truly making donors first responders.

Appointments are not required but are encouraged. To sign up, visit oneblood.org/donate-now and use the sponsor code #64554. Be sure to let the staff know whether you are supporting CPD or CFD when you donate.
