Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office recently issued the following announcement.

A Fort Walton Beach man stopped by an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputy due to an expired vehicle registration tag is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm/ammo by a convicted felon, resisting without violence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

27-year old Sean Coy was pulled over around 9:45 p.m. Monday night off Beal Parkway.

The odor of marijuana was coming from his vehicle and Coy relayed to the deputy that he did not have a medical marijuana card.

Coy had a sandwich bag in his front pocket which tested positive for methamphetamine. A backpack contained a loaded handgun and magazine, a digital scale, and three corner bags of methamphetamine.

During a secondary search, Coy attempted to run while handcuffed, but was taken to the ground.
