County of Santa Rosa issued the following announcement on Nov. 24.

The Santa Rosa County Fair Association, Inc., grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new exhibit hall will take place at 3 p.m. on Tues., Nov. 30 at 8604 Bobby Brown Rd. in Milton. This exhibit hall completes phase two of the AGRI-PLEX, which also houses the June Ates Arena, completed in phase 1.

Grant funding in the amount of $643,000 was awarded through the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to build out the project. The grant was developed, submitted, and managed by volunteers of the Santa Rosa County Fair Board, saving the project over $64,000 in consulting fees, for the benefit of the Santa Rosa community in support of the local agriculture sector.

“It's great to see this project completed as it’s going to provide even more educational, recreational and entertainment opportunities,” said Commissioner Bob Cole, Chairman and District 2. “In a growing county like Santa Rosa County, it’s very important that we cover all these aspects.”

The Santa Rosa County Fair Association, Inc. is currently in a management agreement with the county on the facilities and is opening conversations to expand management capacity and programming management now that construction is complete.
