University of West Florida issued the following announcement on Nov. 10.
The University of West Florida women's soccer team looks to continue their run at the Gulf South Conference Championship title against Lee University on Thursday in the conference semifinals.
Thursday's match against Lee will take place at Ashton Brosnaham Park. The match will be streamed through FloSports. Individual tickets are $6 for each day, children 12 and under are free. A weekend pass for all four days is available for $11.

UWF, the third ranked team in the region, comes into the match after a 1-0 win over Valdosta State in the opening round of the tournament. The Argos are 11-2-2 overall this season and 8-2-2 in GSC action after Sunday's win.
West Florida comes into the match led in scoring by Blair Cowan who has nine goals on the season and was recently named to the GSC All Conference First Team. The Argos frontline includes Cowan, Brianna Pope and Peyton Peffers. All three have been dominant upfront finding opportunities for the team to score. Pope has three goals and Peffers has two goals and Peffers has two goals and two assists. Peyton was named to the GSC All Conference Second Team.
Across the field the Argos have a variety of people who can not only score but also effectively defend. Midfielder Destiny Hird has won the ball for the Argos and taken it away from opponents to drive the ball back down the field. Julia Comin has shown her ability to score and defend the ball. Comin has four goals on the season and scored the game winning goal against Valdosta on Sunday.
In the back Hannah Wooten, Bailey Erwig and Kileigh Whited are a dominant force. Often sending the ball back down the field once opponents reach scoring territory. The three defenders in the back field have been aggressive throughout the course of the season. The Argo defensive has been dominant, limiting five out of their last six opponents to season low shot totals.
The Argos have eight shutouts on the season and are second in the conference in foals allowed just behind Lee.
As the season has progressed the Argos have gotten better on the field. The team and coaches' credit this to their consistency and looking forward to the match in front of them. Depth-wise the Argos have seen a number of contributors throughout the course of the season in starting and not starting roles.
Scouting Lee- The Lee Lady Flames come into the match with a 17-0 record and as the No.1 team in the region. Lee has allowed just five goals on the season, leading the conference in goals allowed. Lee has outshot opponents 275-107.
The Lady Flames are led in scoring by Riley Henry who has nine goals and five assists on the season. Alexis Hale has seven goals and Ellie Crisler and Lauren Weimer have five goals on the season. Throughout the course of the season 16 different people have scored for Lee.
Defensively Lee has been dominant allowing just five goals this season and limiting opponents to an average of 6.3 shots per game. The Lady Flames have 12 shutouts this season.
