Walton County issued the following announcement on Nov. 1.
Motorists may experience periodic road closures beginning this week along CR 30A as part of a sidewalk project.
The $271, 699 project, which is funded by the county’s TIFF program, will see the addition of approximately .45-miles of 5-foot-wide sidewalk from the existing Walton Dunes beach access parking lot north to 30A.
Work will include realignment and paving of a portion of Tresca Drive, topsoil and sod over the old Tresca Drive dirt road connection, reconstruction of existing sidewalk, reconstruction of a concrete driveway, curb, gutter and paving at the entrance Shannon Drive, as well as the addition of two mid-block crosswalks. Addition work will include maintenance of traffic, clearing and grubbing, erosion control and sodding.
A message board will be placed along Lakewood Drive, south of 30A, to warn drivers. Motorists are urged to use caution in the area as flaggers will be present. Work is estimated to be complete by March 2022.
