City of Fort Walton Beach issued the following announcement.
Because of the history of heavy foot traffic on Halloween night (trick-or-treaters) on Brooks Street and Bay Drive, the Fort Walton Beach Police Department will close Brooks Street
SE and Bay Drive SE from Waynel Circle SE to Shore Drive SE to through traffic from approximately 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31. Pedestrian and golf cart traffic is permitted
within the road closure area. If you are a resident and are leaving/arriving during the closure period, please use the side streets listed on the attached detour route (Hood Avenue
SE, Walkedge Drive SE, and Pryor Road SE). See detour map. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation. Happy Halloween!
