National School Bus Safety Week and Florida School Bus Driver Appreciation Day

4

Okaloosa County School District issued the following announcement on Oct. 18.

It is National School Bus Safety Week, and during this week we celebrate Florida School Bus Driver Appreciation Day! Every school year, our school bus drivers safely drive

millions of miles and provide an irreplaceable service to Okaloosa County’s families and youth. School bus drivers make a unique career choice, one that requires an abundance of

patience, concentration, and care.

We, and Alert Today Florida, want our school bus drivers to know how appreciated and valued they are to us and to the countless families across our state that rely on them every

day to safely transport their most precious cargo across our roadways – their children! Please know that you are immensely respected for the vital role you play within our school

system! Your hard work and professionalism do not go unnoticed, and your commitment to roadway safety is paramount! You drive more than just school buses; you drive the

success of our Florida students and families! Thank you for the important and incredible job you do every day!
