University of West Florida Athletics issued the following announcement on Oct. 12.

Argonauts take the first, second, and fourth set en route to victory

For the second time in a week, the No. 13 ranked University of West Florida Volleyball team took down Alabama Huntsville in four sets to remain unbeaten in Gulf South Conference play on the season.

Now 20-1 on the season including an 8-0 mark in conference play, the Argonauts extended their win streak to 15 straight matches tonight which is just one short of tying a program record.

Finishing tonight's match with three players in double digit kills, West Florida was able to get it done from all over the court tonight slowing down many strong Charger runs throughout the match.

Madi Cooler finished with the team high in kills tonight picking up 18 kills over the four sets. Tyler also had a great match finishing with 15 kills herself while Veresia added on 12 kills in the match as well.

Setter Taylor Vaneekeren showed why she earned GSC Offensive Player of the Week honors tonight finishing the match with 52 assists. In addition to averaging 13 assists per set,

Vaneekeren also picked up 14 digs in the match which was third best on the team.

Defensively, libero Ashton Marshall stopped many strong Alabama Huntsville attacks finishing the match with 23 digs. Additionally, freshman middle Jenna Zydlo picked up five huge blocks on the night which was best on the team.

Next up for the Argos is another road trip as they travel to Lee and Shorter on Friday and Saturday which will mark two more tough conference matches. Saturday's match in particular will pin the conference's two top teams against each other as the Hawks have yet to lose a conference match this season as well.
