University of West Florida issued the following announcement on Oct. 5.
Keegan Ancelin is named GSC Freshman of the Week because of his stellar performance against Christian Brothers this past Sunday. Ancelin had a hat trick by scoring all three of the West Florida goals to keep the game tied. At the end of regulation, the game was still tied going into overtime, but unfortunately, the game ended in a draw due to unplayable weather conditions.
This is the second GSC recognition Keegan Ancelin has received this season. The Jacksonville native was named GSC Offensive Player of the Week at the beginning of the season for his impressive performance against Rollins. Ancelin netted two of the four goals to help lead the Argos to victory over the Tars.
On the season, Ancelin is leading the Argos offensively with six goals, twelve points, nine shots, and a shots on goal percentage of .667. With only playing six games so far in his collegiate career, the freshman forward is off to a remarkable start for the Argos.
The Argos have a few more days of preparation before they hit the road to Montgomery, Ala. to play Auburn Montgomery and then to Montevallo, Ala to play Montevallo. The AUM matchup is set for Friday at 7:30 PM while the match-up between the Argos and Falcons is Sunday at 3:30 PM.
