University of West Florida Athletics issued the following announcement on Sept. 14.
Now two-for-two on the season, University of West Florida Volleyball player Madi Cooler has been selected for the second straight week as the GSC Offensive Player of the Week which the conference announced on Tuesday.
After a phenomenal first week of play, Cooler showed no signs of slowing down this week leading the Argonauts to another great weekend of play from the UIndy Invitational.
Playing in 13 sets on the weekend, Cooler led one of the top offenses in the nation leading the Argonauts in kills, kills per set, and points on a weekend where they finished 3-1 with all three wins coming by sweep.
Finishing with 66 kills, 5.08 kills per set, and 71 points total, Cooler added to her conference and national totals where she already sits at the top or near the top of many categories.
Within the Gulf South Conference, Cooler currently places first in kills, kills per set, points, and points per set while also making the most of her opportunities hitting .413% on the season which is second-best in the conference behind teammate Veresia Yon.
Nationally, Cooler is near the top of many offensive categories placing fifth in kills per set, sixth in points per set, and ranks No. 23 in hitting percentage.
Cooler will look to continue her success this weekend when the Argonauts hit the road once again to play in the FMU Invitational in Florence, South Carolina. The action begins at 10 am (CST) on Friday with West Florida playing four matches in the span of two days.
