Argonauts complete 2021-22 recruiting class

University of West Florida recently issued the following announcement.

Head Coach Jeff Burkhamer announced that Rodney Bryant, Jr., a 6-1, 165 pound point guard from Mount Dora Christian Academy has committed to play basketball at the University of West Florida beginning in the 2021-2022 season. Bryant averaged 21 points and 2.7 assists a game while shooting 46% from the field and 34% from 3 last season. 

During high school Bryant scored a career high 42 points against Bradford High School. Bryant scored 1460 points for his school career while leading his high school teams to a 70-15 record during his career. Bryant was named FBCA Class 2A First Team All State and was selected to the Orlando Sentinel Third Team All County Squad. Bryant also had three top 5 finishes in field events while leading his high school team to the class 1A Track and Field State Championship. 

University of West Florida Head School Jeff Burkhamer had this to say about Rodney Bryant. "Rodney is a terrific young player. Rodney is a point guard that can do a variety of things on the court and is a good leader. He can create his own shot or get a shot for a teammate. He is a good shooter and passer, and a terrific defender. He should fit well into our style of play. As a Rodney gets more experience, he will get better and better. He will bring a winning attitude to our program."
