City of Mary Esther recently issued the following announcement.
Pursuant to section 286.011, Florida Statutes, notice is hereby provided that the following entities will convene a joint public meeting to be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. at the Destin Ft. Walton Beach Convention Center, located at 1250 Miracle Strip Parkway, Ft. Walton Beach, FL 32548:
Board of County Commissioners of Okaloosa County
Okaloosa County Tourist Development Council
Cinco Bayou Town Council
Crestview City Council
Destin City Council
Ft. Walton Beach City Council
Laurel Hill City Council
Mary Esther City Council
Niceville City Council
Shalimar Town Commission
Valparaiso City Commission
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss issues related to the proposed expansion of the tourist development taxing district pursuant to Chapter 164, Florida Statutes. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
If any person decides to appeal any decision made with respect to any matter considered at this meeting or hearing, such person will need a record of the proceedings and may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
Okaloosa County adheres to the American Disabilities Act and will make reasonable modifications for access to these hearings upon request. Requests may be made to the County Commission office (850-689-5030 or 850-651-7105) and must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the hearing in order to provide the requested service.
