City of DeFuniak Springs issued the following announcement.
The City of DeFuniak Springs would like to notify our citizens that the DeFuniak Springs Business and Professional Association will host the 2020 Celebration of Freedom parade and activities on Monday, September 7, 2020 around the lakeyard on Circle Drive.
If you are in the vicinity of Circle Drive and the downtown area, please use safety precautions since heavy foot traffic and traffic delays are expected. Circle Drive will be open to one-way traffic only from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Circle Drive will be fully closed from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM for the parade. The parade will begin at 3:00 PM. Circle Drive from Live Oak Avenue to 7th Street will remain closed until 10:00 PM for the 2020 Celebration of Freedom activities.
Remember all fireworks including sparklers are banned on any public property. The professionals will be presenting the fireworks show which will begin around dark.
Please bring your face mask and hand sanitizer. Remember to social distance and have a fun time at the 2020 Celebration of Freedom.
