City of Fort Walton Beach issued the following announcement.
Meet Stephanie Oldnettle, Human Resources Generalist for the City and a Fort Walton Beach native. Stephanie has worked for the City for three years and plays a key role in the implementation of human resources practices for the City’s 300+ employees. Specifically, she takes care of all pre-employment, onboarding and benefits administration for each City department and handles employee payroll changes, FMLA functions and assists interviewing for all open positions. She has a background in the hospitality industry, a bachelor’s degree in management and supervision from Northwest Florida State College, and she earned a master’s degree in business administration with a focus in human resources in June 2020.
Stephanie appreciates her role with the City and understands the importance good human resources plays in the organization. She says she likes “being a force behind change for the better and developing a workplace that creates opportunities for employees.” Her heart is definitely in the right place. When talking about her work for the City, she says, “I love that I am able to give back to this community because I was born and raised here!”
A true hometown girl, Stephanie has lived in the 32548 zip code her whole life and in the same home for her first 24 years. It doesn’t get much more “hometown” than that! Her father is retired from the Air Force and is now a marine mechanic and teacher, and her mother has a career in local retail. She is the oldest of three girls and the oldest of her generation in her family. She got engaged to her fiancé, Jack (an FWB firefighter), in January 2020. They are now planning their life together… in FWB! Getting to know Stephanie Oldnettle:
