CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH: Fort Walton Beach Small Business COVID-19 Recovery Grant Reopened

City of Fort Walton Beach issued the following announcement.

The City of Fort Walton Beach, in partnership with the Florida SBDC at UWF created the Fort Walton Beach Small Business COVID-19 Recovery Grant to help assist business owners within Fort Walton Beach city limits who have suffered from the current pandemic. The application deadline for eligible businesses to apply for this grant has been extended until 5:00 PM CDT on Friday, August 7th. The reopening of the grant program is effective immediately, and business owners are encouraged to submit completed application packages as soon as possible.

The initial grant contribution for the program from the City of Fort Walton Beach was $100,000 and funds are currently still available for eligible small business owners. Individual grant awards are $2,500 and they are intended to address a business’s immediate cash flow needs as a result of economic injury from COVID-19. Each business or owner may only receive one grant award from this grant program. Basic eligibility requirements for the business include being a for-profit business with a storefront located in Fort Walton Beach City Limits, being in business prior to 1/1/2019, being profitable in 2019 as indicated by financials, and having no more than 20 employees.
