Rep. Matt Gaetz, currently serving as a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 1st district, recently took to social media to express critical views on the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Gaetz, who has been in office since 2017 after replacing Jeff Miller and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016, voiced his opinions through a series of tweets.

On February 4, 2025, Rep. Gaetz stated his intention to expose USAID by calling it “a corrupt slush fund for some very bad things.” He announced that he would discuss this issue alongside Rep. Eli Crane at 9 p.m., only on OANN. The tweet can be accessed here.

Later that day, he continued his critique with another tweet stating simply that “USAID is up to no good,” accompanied by a link for further information. This statement was posted at 19:55 UTC and can be found here.

The following day, on February 5, Gaetz made an unequivocal call to action with the succinct message “Abolish USAID,” signaling his strong stance against the agency. The tweet is available here.
