Rep. Matt Gaetz, currently serving as a U.S. Congressman for Florida’s 1st District, has made several statements on social media addressing current political events. Gaetz, who succeeded Jeff Miller in Congress in 2017 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives, is known for his outspoken views.

On March 5, 2025, Gaetz commented on Senator Elizabeth Warren’s stance regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. He stated: “Elizabeth Warren just applauded 5 more years of war in Ukraine.”

Later that day, Gaetz expressed criticism towards Governor Ron DeSantis and his Attorney General. In a tweet he remarked: “No, dude, that’s not what is happening…DeSantis/hisAG are using you to virtue signal against the unrighteous…” The statement suggests a strategic maneuver by DeSantis to polarize public perception.

Additionally, Gaetz shared his thoughts on an incident involving Senator Elizabeth Warren criticizing former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk. He described the scenario with humor: “Pocahontas going full Karen on Trump and @elonmusk with police lights flashing in the reflection of her glasses is just sooooo GOLDEN AGE for me.”
