Representative Matt Gaetz, a member of the U.S. Congress from Florida’s 1st District since 2017, recently made several statements on social media. Gaetz, who replaced Jeff Miller and has a background in law with degrees from Florida State University and the College of William & Mary, took to Twitter to address various political issues.

On December 4, 2024, Gaetz addressed criticism regarding his nomination for Attorney General. He stated, “John Duarte spoke out against my nomination for Attorney General. But only one of us won an election to serve in the 119th Congress from actual voters.”

Later that day, Gaetz expressed his support for Will Cain amidst discussions about Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. At 14:56 UTC on December 4, he tweeted: “I trust Will Cain over the anons who don’t want the change that SecDef Hegseth will bring.”

In another tweet posted at 15:26 UTC on December 4, Gaetz simply shared a message stating: “Silver alert”, without additional context.
