Public Safety hosts Haunted Open House

Santa Rosa County Public Safety wants to celebrate Halloween with the community by hosting a family-friendly Haunted Open House on Tue., Oct. 18 from 3 – 6:30 p.m. at 4499 Pine Forest Road, in Milton. Children and adults can enter a costume contest, play games, get a jump start on Halloween treats and learn valuable Halloween safety tips.

The event will include:

  • Free helmets with fitting
  • Games
  • Safety Tips
  • Costume contest
  • Door prizes and giveaways
  • CPR/AED and Basic First Aid mini-training

The Santa Rosa community is invited to stop by to learn more about the county’s public safety department and the emergency operations center’s role during a disaster.

A Walton County Grand Jury has indicted Dr. Thomas Shaknovsky for second-degree manslaughter after a surgical error led to an Alabama man’s death in August 2024. Authorities say Shaknovsky mistakenly removed a patient’s liver instead of his spleen during surgery.
