County of Santa Rosa recently issued the following announcement.

The Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Office and UF/IFAS Extension Office are seeking volunteers for the Navarre Beach Ambassador Program. An informational meeting will be held at 3 p.m. on Thurs., Apr. 14 in the conference room of the Navarre Visitor Information Center, 8543 Navarre Parkway in Navarre.

This meeting will provide detailed information on the program and materials will be given to those who sign up as volunteers. Participants in this program will share their knowledge of Navarre Beach with beach visitors as well as ask visitors to complete short surveys.

A Fort Walton Beach area woman faces charges after allegedly throwing beer bottles at a toddler who tried to help her following a fall from her bicycle. Witnesses say quick action by the child prevented injury, and no harm was reported.
