Former Congressman Matt Gaetz, a prominent figure in U.S. politics, has been vocal on social media about various issues. Representing Florida’s 1st district since 2017, Gaetz has consistently expressed his views on immigration and political matters. Below are some of his recent statements made via tweets.

On May 18, 2025, Gaetz suggested an unconventional approach to handling immigration by proposing to “Fill that ship w illegals and send it one way to Rosarito.”

Later the same day, he commended someone named John for their efforts with a brief message: “Great work John!”

In another tweet on May 18, Gaetz criticized the leadership within the House Republicans regarding the Appropriations Chair’s capacity to serve effectively. He stated that “House Republicans tolerated an Appropriations Chair who was literally in a memory care ward.” He questioned why this situation was permitted, attributing it to lobbyists and special interests influencing decisions. Gaetz acknowledged bipartisan issues by agreeing with Eli’s assertion that such occurrences happen across both parties.

Matt Gaetz was born in Hollywood, Florida in 1982 and currently resides in Niceville. He graduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in 2003 and earned a JD from the College of William & Mary in 2007.
