Former Congressman Matt Gaetz, a notable political figure who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 1st district since 2017, recently took to social media to express his views on several international and domestic issues. Gaetz, born in Hollywood, Florida in 1982 and currently residing in Niceville, shared his thoughts on topics ranging from voting rights to regime change.
On June 22, 2025, Gaetz commented on the political situation involving Arabs and Israeli national elections. He stated: “Millions of Arabs can’t vote in Israeli national elections in Judea and Samaria.” He emphasized that he was merely observing and analyzing the situation without dictating any particular stance. Additionally, he mentioned his preference for reading news from One America News Network over Newsmax.
Later that day, Gaetz raised questions about potential outcomes following regime change efforts in Iran. He queried: “Regime change. Sounds lovely. So what happens the day after in Iran?” Gaetz speculated whether such changes would lead to liberation or result in more conflict including refugees, sectarian violence, civil war, and terrorism.
In another post made hours later on the same day, Gaetz reflected on past beliefs influenced by a president he once admired. He expressed regret stating: “I am ashamed I allowed myself to believe the nonsensical things the president I admired was saying.” He compared former President Trump’s actions with those surrounding Qasem Soleimani’s killing while asserting Israel’s interest in regime change.
Matt Gaetz is a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree earned in 2003 and holds a Juris Doctor from the College of William & Mary obtained in 2007.
