On September 30, Gaetz commented on a video, stating, “I watched this and felt guilty about how fat I am! I’ll try to do better, Pete. And I’m just a TV host.” The same day, he posted another message containing only emojis: ” “.
On October 1, Gaetz referenced a quote from an unnamed “Whip,” posting: “Whip: ‘absolutely not'”.
Gaetz has served as the representative for Florida’s 1st District since succeeding Jeff Miller in 2017. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016. Born in Hollywood, Florida in 1982 and currently residing in Niceville, Gaetz holds degrees from Florida State University and the College of William & Mary.
