On July 19, 2025, Gaetz questioned the accuracy of statements made by Mike Huckabee regarding the treatment of Christians in Israel, writing, “Was Huckabee bearing false witness when he said Christians were being “harassed” by Israel?”

Matt Gaetz has represented Florida’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress since 2017 after succeeding Jeff Miller. Prior to his congressional service, he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016.
