Former Congressman Matt Gaetz, who has represented Florida’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, posted a series of tweets on July 25 and July 26, 2025, expressing support for Alina, making claims about media involvement, and congratulating Devin Nunes.

On July 25, Gaetz wrote: “We must have Alina’s back at all cost.”

Shortly after, he added: “The media was in on it”.

On July 26, Gaetz tweeted: “Presidential Medal of Freedom Recipient Devin Nunes!”

Gaetz has been an active figure in Republican politics since joining the U.S. Congress in 2017 after serving in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016. He was born in Hollywood, Florida in 1982 and currently resides in Niceville. Gaetz holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University and a Juris Doctor from the College of William & Mary.
