Former Congressman Matt Gaetz posted a series of tweets on July 16 and 17, 2025, including pointed remarks directed at former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

On July 16, Gaetz shared a post containing only emojis: ” https://t.co/OBYVIGeCGC”. Later that day, he addressed McCarthy directly in another tweet: “This is so sad, Kevin. Get help. Move on. You don’t have to always be thinking about me. https://t.co/e1y5JyCQ74”. The following day, he posted another message consisting of an emoji and a link: ” https://t.co/bvATwtsNQD”.

Matt Gaetz has represented Florida’s 1st congressional district since 2017 after succeeding Jeff Miller. Before his tenure in Congress, Gaetz served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016. Born in Hollywood, Florida in 1982, Gaetz currently resides in Niceville and holds degrees from Florida State University and the College of William & Mary.
