Former Congressman Matt Gaetz, who has represented Florida’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, posted a series of brief statements on his social media account between August 13 and August 14, 2025.

On August 13, Gaetz wrote, “El Salvador loves President Bukele https://t.co/bXubvpn9TO”. Later that day, he followed up with another post stating simply, “Yeah… https://t.co/yU1mUWWslv”.

The next morning, on August 14, Gaetz published a third message featuring only an American flag emoji: ” https://t.co/AlGpGtLYrM”.

Gaetz began serving in Congress in 2017 after replacing Jeff Miller and had previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016. Born in Hollywood, Florida in 1982 and currently residing in Niceville at age 40, Gaetz holds degrees from Florida State University and the College of William & Mary.
