Former Congressman Matt Gaetz has used his social media platform to endorse a candidate for Texas Attorney General and comment on political developments. Gaetz, who has represented Florida’s 1st congressional district since 2017 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives, posted several tweets on October 1 and 2, 2025.
On October 1, Gaetz expressed support for Chip Roy, writing: “Chip Roy has the right stuff. He’s a smart, tough Texan and has my full endorsement for Attorney General!”

Gaetz was born in Hollywood, Florida in 1982 and currently resides in Niceville. He graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2003 and earned his law degree from the College of William & Mary in 2007.
