Former Congressman Matt Gaetz, who has represented Florida’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, posted a series of remarks on social media between October 14 and October 16, 2025, addressing topics ranging from local environmental issues to political endorsements.

On October 14, Gaetz commented on mosquito control strategies in Florida, stating: “Too many mosquitoes for this strategy to take off in Florida.”

Two days later, on October 16, he posted a brief question: “Harboring a fugitive?”

Shortly after, on the same day, Gaetz expressed his preference regarding political endorsements: “I trust MTG over Susan B Anthony political group”.

Matt Gaetz has served as the representative for Florida’s 1st congressional district since replacing Jeff Miller in 2017. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016. Born in Hollywood, Florida in 1982 and currently residing in Niceville, Gaetz holds degrees from Florida State University and the College of William & Mary.
