Former Congressman Matt Gaetz, who has represented Florida’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, posted a series of tweets on August 20 and 21, 2025, commenting on international and personal matters.

On August 20, Gaetz wrote, “Honduras is messing with our military’s runways.” The following day, he posted two additional tweets. On August 21 at 04:04 UTC, he shared a tweet simply stating “”. Later that day at 15:13 UTC, Gaetz tweeted, “I’m not crying…..you’re crying!”

Matt Gaetz began serving in the U.S. Congress in 2017 after replacing Jeff Miller and has represented Florida’s 1st District since then. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016. Born in Hollywood, Florida in 1982 and currently residing in Niceville, Gaetz holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University and a Juris Doctor from the College of William & Mary.
