Former Congressman Matt Gaetz, who has represented Florida’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, posted a series of tweets on July 23 and 24, 2025, addressing topics ranging from Department of Justice actions to wildlife policy.

On July 23, Gaetz commented on potential legal strategies regarding the Department of Justice’s handling of conspiracy charges related to treason. He stated, “Excellent point by Poso – but here’s a tell that DOJ is thinking through this issue: they’re going to charge a treason *conspiracy* Venue would be proper in any place where any element of the conspiracy occurred. So now everyone involved in the Russia Hoax is wondering…..”.

Hours later, on July 24, he made another post criticizing perceived corruption: “So corrupt”.

In a subsequent tweet on the same day, Gaetz addressed environmental concerns with a statement suggesting support for both agricultural interests and wildlife preservation: “I think we can be for ranchers and wolves”.

Matt Gaetz has served as U.S. Representative for Florida’s 1st District since replacing Jeff Miller in 2017 and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016. Born in Hollywood, Florida in 1982 and currently residing in Niceville at age 40, Gaetz holds degrees from Florida State University (BS) and College of William & Mary (JD).
