Washington, D.C. – This morning, U.S. Congressman Matt Gaetz (FL-01) announced the winners of the 2023 Congressional Art Competition for Florida’s First District at Artel Gallery in Pensacola.

Each Spring, the Congressional Art Competition, a nationwide high school arts competition, is sponsored by members of the U.S. House of Representatives. High school students from across Florida’s First Congressional District submitted their artwork for the competition, and a panel of local art professionals judged the pieces. The winning artwork will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. The exhibit in Washington will also include artwork from participating districts across the country.

1st Place Winner: Lara Proshek, Pace High School

2nd Place Winner: Audra Davis, J.M. Tate High School

3rd Place Winner: Mandie Becker, Milton High School

Runner Up: Hailey Snider, Navarre High School

Runner Up: Ellie Vargas, Milton High School

Runner Up: Christina Huynh, Booker T. Washington High School
